JIM SERPICO

Jim Serpico, a native of Long Island, New York, was raised in a household where his father was a prominent bandleader in the New York city scene. The vibrant music and delicious food that surrounded him during his youth left a lasting impression on Jim. His exposure to these influences fueled his passion for culinary traditions passed down from his ancestors, who immigrated during the “Immigrant Wave” of the 1920s.

As Jim pursued a career in the entertainment industry, he made significant contributions as a film/television producer, director, and writer. His innovative work on acclaimed projects like the television series Rescue Me and the film Blow has left a lasting impact on popular culture, showcasing his creative vision and storytelling prowess.

While achieving success in the entertainment world, Jim never forgot his roots and continued to explore his love for cooking and preserving his heritage. Alongside his wife Sherrie, Jim ventured into selling artisanal bread at local farmers’ markets, a passion project that has flourished into a successful business venture called Side Hustle Bread. Through his diverse pursuits, Jim exemplifies a rich tapestry of influences, talents, and entrepreneurial spirit.
